Hi Everyone,

It’s been another hectic week for everyone here at Millfield, but we only have one week left before half-term so keep going the time will fly-by!

Happy Chinese New Year to all the students celebrating this week.

Well done to Camerata for a beautiful performance at the Candlemas service on Tuesday and best of luck to all those tonight performing in the Millfield Musician of the Year Contemporary Finals.

In sport, well done to the girl’s hockey 1st team for winning their match on Thursday and proceeding to the next round of the cup and also to the girl’s netball 1st team for moving into the quarter-finals of their tournament.

Thank you to everyone who participated in Whole School council this week, we really appreciated the points you raised with us. We will be sharing the minutes and actions taken on these very soon.

Whole School Council:

We have fed back to Mr Whatling and Mr Middleton the points raised in whole school council in regards to what you wanted parity between houses on and also any suggestions you all had on how to improve campus nights.

A copy of all the food available for purchase on bluerunner is going to be put up on the noticeboard of every house.

We really want to encourage every house to run house council at least once a term. This is a really great way for you all to raise suggestions and queries with your HSMs and AHSMs.

PSHEE feedback :

Ms Duggan would like anyone interested in giving feedback in regards to PSHEE and RSE to get in touch with her at duggan.r@millfieldschool.com . Students in year group council requested the ability to have a discussion group where they could feedback what they felt about their PSHEE lessons and Ms Duggan is more than happy to facilitate this once a term and is even offereing lunch as well! Please take her up on this offer if you have something to say about how/what is taught in PSHEE/RSE.

Revision Workshops :

There is now a complete list of all the revision workshops available to students on MInerva. Do make use of these as they are great way of solidifying your learning or getting help with a topic you are struggling with.

Whole School Assembly:

Mr Horgan has confirmed that a whole school assembly will take place after half-term.

Free Sanitary Products Pilot:

As part of the MBA Girl Up programme we are going to attempt to run a pilot of having free sanitary products in one of the girls bathrooms/changing rooms with the hope if this is successful it can be expanded. The hope is that this will be run under the idea of ‘take one if you need one, leave one if you’ve got one spare’ and we will start planning this with Mrs Weston in the hope that It can start sometime after half-term.

As ever please get in touch if there is anything you want to raise with us.

Your Heads of School,

Anabelle and Sam
